Built for Hamilton
Basements.
BaseWorks started because a group of tradespeople got tired of watching Hamilton homeowners pay full price for half-finished basement work. Too many contractors in this city were skipping engineer-stamped drawings, pulling incomplete permits, and handing over surprise invoices partway through a job. Homeowners had no real way to tell a qualified crew apart from someone working out of a van with a borrowed excavator.
So we built something different: a basement underpinning company where engineering comes first, permit compliance is never optional, and the price on the contract doesn't move once it's signed. That's genuinely the foundation - pun fully intended - that BaseWorks was built on.
Today, we're among the most experienced basement underpinning contractors working in Hamilton. We've lowered floors in century-old semis across Westdale, reinforced crumbling foundations in postwar bungalows in Waterdown, waterproofed century homes in Binbrook, and converted crawl spaces throughout Ancaster - every soil condition, every construction era, every neighbourhood the city has to offer.
Every person on a BaseWorks crew is a full-time employee, not a subcontractor pulled in for the job. Every project is supervised by a licensed general contractor and signed off by a structural engineer of record. When we say the work is done right, there's an actual paper trail behind that claim.
